I recently switched from my LG Dare to the new Blackberry Tour. So I needed a rugged case for those times that the BB might slip out of my hand. Yeh, you know it has happened to you too. I had a a cheap case for the Dare, that never really stayed on right. So when my friends at Otter Box announced they had a new line for the Tour I was very happy to say the least.
The Impact $19.95, pictured left, is an alternative to RIM’s cheap silicon case. The case is made from silicone and is reinforced with inner coring to transfer shocks away from the phone in the event of a drop. Also included with the case is a screen protector to prevent scratches.
The bad boy is the Defender, pictured right for those needing the ultimate protection It offers four layers of protection, plus a durable holster.
- Layer 1: Thermal formed protective clear membrane. Protects keypad against scratching, as well as dust intrusion (layer optional depending on the level of ruggedization desired)
- Layer 2: Hi-impact polycarbonate shell for an added guard against drops and shocks
- Layer 3: High quality silicone skin to absorb bump and shock
- Layer 4: A clear membrane that covers the keyboard
- Full access to all keys, ports and functions
The case sells for $49.95 and is designed to protect the Tour from drops, bumps, dust, and shocks. All of the ports are accessible along with all functions of the phone when it’s in the case.
For my investment in the Tour, I choose the Defender. Otter Box’s durable quality can’t be matched for the price. More information about other cases for your iPhone, Palm or other devices go to Otter Box
